Style Twin/Inspiration

So I was contacted on Twitter about doing a Celeb style twin by a sweet young lady named HollyB. She wanted me to do a post on what celebrity had a very similar style to mine. I loved the idea of this post. So much fun! Should I do it in a series? Celeb makeup taste similar to mine? Not sure...trying to really restructure this blog. Originally I would have said Kim Kardashian. We both love the big glasses and I rarely see a picture of her wearing something I don't like. Thank you Sears hehe. But then I decided to do a little more digging and research on some other celeb styles I have really noticed lately and I have decided to go with Stana Katic from one of my favorite shows Castle. It was a close run between the entire cast of Pretty Little Liars and Ms. Katic. The reason I chose Stana is because her style is so eclectic. I noticed that like myself she doesn't have one set style and I admire that. A lady should dress the way her heart and soul desires when she wakes up that day. Here are a few key outfits that Stana has worn that really stick out to me. After digging around I found a few pics! Okay so this outfit right here stuck out right away. I love the cargoesque pants with the neutral tank with added detail. It reminds me of a JCREW outfit with a little bit of a twist. PS If anybody knows where I can find this tank....comment below. Must have it!

So apparently she wore these to an event last week in Beverly Hills. Jimmy Choo Imogen sandal. To DIE FOR! First of all I didn't even realize they came in this emerald color. I love the edginess.

And this is my case....being rested. Okay first of all....I could spot those Gucci's from a mile away. I believe they were originally released a few years ago but I think they carry a similar style now. I can't see the heel in this picture but they have been on my 'wishlist' for a good year or two. But let me get to the real reason why I selected this particular outfit to 'rest my case'. First anyone who knows me well enough knows I compare my dressing style to a mix of Blair Waldorf and Rachel Green (yes of Friends for you fans out there). This is flat out something I would wear right from the nautical Rag and Bone Blazer to the skinny jegging's. I think her eclectic and personalized style is admirable and if I had to pick one 'famous person' to compare my personal style to it would be Stana's. I simply wouldn't mind raiding her closet because I feel like I would surely find the same style in my own closet and fashion is about being yourself. Makes me wonder what Stana or even Kim K would think of my weak spot for Target Boyfriend T'S. HMMM....

And for good measure allow me to include my favorite Blair Waldorf ensemble of all time:

I have acquired quite the headband collection because of one tv character! Completely obsessed with navy! The tights will yet again be a staple in my fall and winter fashions. No lady ever went wrong with a cute and classy pair of tights.

Another fun survey....that I hope I haven't done before :)

Hey y'all!!!! So again long time no blog. New job and a lot of other things but yet again I am back and lets hope its for the long haul. I love blogging and I really want to keep it up. So here is a survey I found that I have wanted to complete and tomorrow I am posting my "celeb style twin". But I'll tell you more about that tomorrow (or the day after hehe) So here it goes and please forgive me if I have done this survey before. If so the answers have surely changed because my style changes so often!!!

How many times do you wash your face daily?

2-3 times a day. Morning and night:)And in the shower! 

What skin type do you have?

Combination..

What is your current facial wash?
Okay so I am currently using the Sibu soap bar in the shower, but when I wake up and at night I use Yes To Cucumbers face wash, which I am probably going to abandon when the current bottle runs out. It's not working the way I wanted it to and I just don't feel as refreshed after washing with it. 

Do you exfoliate?

Yes in the shower!

What brand do you use?
My Sibu bar :)

What moisturizer do you use?

I am currently using Sephora Instant Moisturizer and the Yes to Cucumbers night cream (which I will not use once the face wash runs out)

Do you have freckles?

A little bit :)

Do you use eye cream?
I use a correcter pen that has caffeine and nutrients...I'm taking a break from the eye cream.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Preteens...enough said

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
Yes and I used it for about 2 or 3 years and it just stopped working. Before that it was a life saver!

What foundation do you use?
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Medium

How about concealer?

I am currently using Maybelline Fit Me in Light

Do you know your undertone color?
Yes I do :)

What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I think they are amazing just not for everyday use!Applying glue every day to that area can't be good for it.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?

Yes I do :)

What brand of mascara do you use?
I am loyal to Maybelline mascaras because they have never let me down. But if I had to choose another it would either be Benefit They're Real or Urban Decay Super CurlSephora or MAC?
Why must a girl choose?

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
Nope :)

What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
Makeup Brushes!!!!! And my trusty eye lash curler.

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
Yes, I used to be loyal to Urban Decay's but now I am really loving MAC Painterly Paint Pot!

For the face?

It depends! Right now I haven't been just because I feel its too hot to put it on.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?

Why make a girl choose again? So mean. I have a few. Right now I have been really loving Paradisco, Mylar and COQUETTE all by mac, Oh and of course anything from my Urban Decay Naked Palette

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Both!

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

Sometimes.

MAC Creme De Nude, or Up The Amp. But if I could only have one lipstick color for the rest of my life it would be MAC Angel.

How about lip gloss?
I really prefer Revlon or MAC Dazzle Glasses

What is your favorite blush to use?
Easy. Right now I am completely obsessed with MAC Dolly Mix. I'm going through a phase!Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
Absolutely Not. Do you like drugstore makeup?

I do actually. I am really impressed by Maybelline Mascara, Revlon Lip Products and believe it or not Wet & Wild eyeshadow palettes.

Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
No, but I need to get to one!

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
Nope. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

No!

Name a makeup crime that you hate?
Mismatched foundation and not blending.

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
Yes! Its fun to experiment just don't get carried away. A lady only needs one feature to really pop. Subtle eyes if you're doing a bright lip!

Which celebrity always has great make up?

Kim Kardashian, Ashley Benson, Stana Katic and Leighton Meester

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?

Mascara

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
I could and I have. With my sunglasses close by

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
Yeah, but makeup makes me feel good. Like I am putting in the effort :)

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?

Definitely not choosing.

What do you think of Makeup?

I think its a lovely method of self expression and experimenting with ones inner and outer beauty!
